Informer offers two options for logging hours:
Automatically via a stopwatch;
Through manual entry.
Preparing the system
Add basic data
For both automatic time tracking via the stopwatch and manual entry, a few basic pieces of data need to be in place.
Create a unit
One of the basic data points is a unit. To create the correct unit, follow the steps below:
Navigate to Settings in the left-hand menu;
Choose Units and click New;
Enter a name under Name. For example, Hours;
For Type, select Hour Type;
Save to create the unit.
Create a product
The next step is to create a product. To create a product, follow the steps below:
Navigate to Products in the left-hand menu and click New;
Fill in the requested product information and choose Hours as the unit;
Save to create the product.
Create a project
For both automatic time tracking via the stopwatch and manual entry, at least one active project must be available.
To create a project, follow the steps below:
Go to Time registration in the left-hand menu;
Select Projects and click New;
Fill in the required information. Make sure the Status is set to Open;
Click Save when all information is entered.
Logging hours using the stopwatch
Activating the stopwatch
To activate the stopwatch, follow these steps:
Navigate to Settings in the left-hand menu;
Select Users and open your own user profile;
Open the Preferences and Notifications tab;
Activate Show stopwatch;
If there are active projects, the stopwatch will automatically appear in the top right corner in the form of a timer

Using the stopwatch
To log hours via the stopwatch, follow these steps:
Click the stopwatch icon in the top right to open the Informer stopwatch;
Click Play to start the timer;
Click Stop when the work is finished;
Specify the project you worked on;
Select the type of hour (unit type);
Click Save to log the hours.
The logged time is now saved and can be found under the specified project.
